Things You Don't Expect to Happen

Chatting to friends at the bar last night, looking to my left and realising I'm standing next to Matthew Corbett.

Who even said goodbye to us when he left. (Well, I say us, I mean me. He must have heard.)

He looked great. And we did discuss asking after Sooty but decided not to.

Line of the evening went to the girl behind the bar. After he'd sat back down.

'That's him off Sooty and Sweep, isn't? Do you reckon he's brought that van they had? Maybe he's parked it outside.'

Someone else: 'No. He's on holiday. Staying on a canal boat.'

'What? With Rosie and Jim?'

Oh how we laughed.

Too cool for school. I loved sooty and sweep because I thought they had named the character after my cat 'sootie' and had spelt it wrong. Oh the mind of a five year old.

That just brought back a torrent of memories. I loved Sooty!

No way Nik! Thanks for the link to the show, brought back lots of pleasant childhood memories :-)

Jessica, that's one of the best stories ever!

It was seriously cool (though my American friend didn't quite get what all the fuss was about; me and his girlfriend were rather excited).

And the coolest thing about it all was the memories (Confession: I googled/youtubed Rod, Jane and Freddy earlier). It does us good to remember. Right? Please tell me I'm not THAT sad!!

:)

How cool is that - Love the clip of Sooty swimming as well! I've a feeling that he sold the Sooty franchise, which is why we never see them.

Oh he might have done (A quick look on Wiki says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooty).

I liked the swimming clip too.

Eh, memories.

N :)
